MARCEL MENDY IS NEW GFA SECRETARY GENERAL




Impeachable sources reaching this newspaper have disclosed that the Executive Secretary of the National Youth Council Marcel Mendy has now been made the new acting secretary general of The Gambia Football Association.

He has replaced Abdul Salam Jammeh who together with Bakary Terema Dahaba Director Technical Training Center, Kebba Ceesay assistant Technical Director and Kemo Ceesay Treasurer has been sent on three months leave by the FA.

Ebou Secka, current Executive Secretary of Gambia for Gold who served as an assistant secretary general under the Alhaji Gabbie Sosseh leadership at the GFA has bounced back as the acting assistant secretary general while he will also oversee the GFA Technical Training Centre in Yundum. Ismaila Njie an accountant at the Youth Council replaced Kemo Ceesay as the Treasurer.

According to the source, the Committee in its meeting on August 7th, 2012 had suggested that some senior staff have not been fully cooperative with it, and have not shown commitment to the normalisation process, an undisclosed source said.
Marcel Mendy until his new appointment is the Executive Secretary of the National Youth Council while Ebou Secka was the acting secretary general at the GFA under Gabbie Sosseh. A source informed our sports desk as part of a partnership with the Barnsley football club of England, Secka was sent on an attachment to the English championship side in the last decade but upon completion of his attachment failed to return home and stayed in the United Kingdom for four years until his recent return to the country.
