This
is the second edition of the tournament to be organised by the association,
through the youth wing under the guidance of Muhammed Papa Njie, the
Secretary-General of the association, who also doubles as the Chairman of the
sports committee.
Alunhareh
FC made it to the final at the expense of Darsilami FC on a post penalty
shoot-out after drawing in the game, while their opponent Julangel FC also made
it through after snatching a late one nil win against the last year’s semi
finalist Garawol FC.
Meanwhile,
the Chairman of the sports committee Muhammed Papa Njie called on the teams and
their supporters to at all times maintain discipline during the course of the
play in order to meet the aims and objectives of organising the tournament.
According
to him, the purpose of the tournament is to foster cooperation and
understanding among the Sarahuleh youths in the country, and to also contribute
their quota to the development of the game.
Speaking
to our reporter in a pre-final interview, the Head Coach of Julangel FC,
Abubacarr Camara said his team is prepared for the final on Sunday and
expressed optimistic that his side would win the final this time around.
“Our
last year’s performance was not good, compared to this year, and we want to use
the opportunity to win the trophy this year for the first time, based on the
team and the quality players I have in the competition this time round. I want
to call on all our supporters to come out in their large numbers to cheer the
boys on Sunday,” Camara said.
