Serekunda United, Sait Matty play a stalemate game

Serekunda United and Sait Matty FC on Sunday played a stalemate game in the ongoing Gambia Football Association GFA 2013 Second Division League championship, played at the Serekunda West Mini-Stadium.

The game was a close affair as both teams displayed some piece of fascinating football. But it was last year’s relegated side from the top flight Serekunda United, which dominated the game, creating some decent half chances in the first half which they failed to convert.
Meanwhile, SaitMatty equally showcased some excellent sequence of beautiful one touch passing movement in the second half. They created some scoring opportunities, courtesy of their new entrants but equally failed to make the most out of it.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, the Sait Matty’s Coach, AnsumanaJallow, equally applauded his side results. His words: “The game was far better than our previous games, because technically and tactically, the boys have improved. Although we created many chances, but failed to utilise any, we also need to work on our defensive backline and improve on our attacking flow.”

Also, speaking to the press at a post-match interview, the Head Coach of Serekunda United, Pa Lamin Sillah, expressed satisfaction with his team's performance.

He said: “Today's game was good, and my boys created some few chances on goal but were unable to find the opponent’s net. With our level and style of football, I’m confident my team is capable of making it to the first division. We have also learned a lot from this game and we hope to improve on our flaws, more so collecting at least a point from the game is better than losing.”
