The first half of the thrilling encounter ended goalless in which
both teams played tireless to score their opponents in the first period.
The only goal scored in the game to seperate the
two sides came courtesy of Balemeh Ceesay for Garawol FC few minutes after the
resumption of the second half. A moment later Madina Samako was reduce to ten
men when Abdoulie Sillah was sentoff in the 73rd minute for
un-sports man behavior.
Speaking to reporters in a pose match interview, the head coach of
Garawol Hajie Nyuma Ceesay, thanked his boys for playing to expectation, saying
he was satisfied with his team’s performance and also commended the supporters
for maintaining peace.
For his part the looser opponent coach from Madina Samako also
said their aim was to win the match to qualify for the quarter final which
ended unfortunate. He still held his boys for maintining calm in the game and added
that they will learn from their mistakes and come back next year with a
difference, he said.
In othe other knock-out
game on Monday, Dippa-Kunda entertained Demba-Kunda Kasseh FC by three goal to
one.
