Hamang Conteh’s brace earns Gamtel advantage over ASC HLM

Gamtel FC
Hamang Conteh gave Gamtel a precious 2-1 advantage over Senegalese club ASC HLM on Sunday at the Box Bar mini stadium in Brikama, in the first leg preliminary round of the 10th edition of Africa’s secondary club football competition organized by CAF.

Hamang marked his name twice on the score sheet for Gamtel in the 55th and 88th minute respectively to give the Telecommunication Boys a convincing 2-1 home victory over the Senegalese second division side ASC HLM and Alioun Faal pulled one back for them in the 71st minute through a header.
Gamtel started brightly in the first half, but after a floodlight failure just before the interval, the Telecommunication Boys seemed to lose a little of their sparkle as ASC HLM fought hard to gain possession.

Coming into the second half, Gamtel continued from where they left prior to the break. In the 74th minute, ASC HLM’s Alioun Faal sent in a fine shot, but went straight in the hands of Gamtel’s net minder Musa Camara.
Modou Sarr also came close to extending Gamtel’s lead in the dying moments of the game following his fine shot, but his efforts went off target and Gamtel had to hold on for the 2-1 win.
