As if the whopping D2.5 million he dished out for this year's NaYCONF was not enough, The Gambian president Yahya Jammeh was once again at the receiving end of much praises from Gambian youth.
As, in yet another show of his magnanimity and commitment towards the development of Gambian youth, President Jammeh yesterday donated 1211 bags of rice to the ongoing NaYCONF.
168 gallons of 20litre cooking oil, 5 cartons of vinegar, 76 cartons of tomato paste, 7 bags of sugar, 6 bags of onion, 22 cartons of jumbo and one bag of black pepper, are part of this latest package from the president.
The gesture came at a time when the biggest gathering of Gambian youth, known as NaYCONF, underway in the provincial town of Bansang in CRR, is apparently experiencing depleting stock of food stuff.

"President Jammeh has always been supportive to the development and molding of Gambian youth," says the Youth and Sports Minister, Alieu K. Jammeh, who presented to the items to the chairperson of the National Youth Council, Fabakary Kalleh, at a ceremony held at Janjanbureh.
"The president has fulfilled his responsibility to the youth of the country. It should therefore be youth's responsibility to take advantage of the opportunities provided for them by the government. This gesture will no doubt contribute immensely towards making the event a success."
