Demba Kunda Khasseh emerged winners in DSACD Tourney

Demba Kunda Khasseh were on Friday crowned the champions of Dynamic Serahule Association for Changes and Development (DSACD) third edition football tournament at the expense of their URR rivals Kulary, played at the Serekunda East mini-stadium.

The only goal from striker Saibo Jagana, alias (Police) in the 43rd minute of the game was all but enough to give Demba Kunda Khasseh the victory after squandering a series of goal chances in the first half, which ended goalless. The goal puncher was booked for taking off his jersey, while celebrating his goal.

After resumption for the second half, it became a period full of chances where Kulary came closer to the chance of scoring, through their striker Hagie Touray, but faiedl to find the back of the net out of hesitation.  The closest shot for Kulary made a different in the game.
A moment later, Kulary benefited from a free-kick, but again sent in the wrong direction.
The Secretary-General of the Gambia Football Coaches, Ebriama Manneh, commended both teams for playing well and then thanked the organisers for supporting and promoting sports in The Gambia.

Speaking at a post-match interview, the head coach of Demba Kunda Khasseh, Hajie Kussa Touray who expressed enchantment, said the boys had played up to expectations, adding that he is not surprised because he knew the trophy was coming back to them, hence it was snatched away in 2012 by Madina Nfally. And this time round, he said, it is theirs and will always be theirs. Hajie Kussa Touray was also certified as the best coach of dynamic’s third edition 2013.

“It’s a game and we expect a looser and a winner,  my boys did well and am proud to say that we have been able to make it to the finals and came out as second. So, I commend them for the patience and when we come back next year it shall surely be ours because we have to learn from our mistakes then from there we are ready for the teams that will be participating next year. Hence, lots of chances were made, but we couldn’t score,” said Kulary’s coach Sheriffo Ceesay.

For the leading goal scorer, Saibo Jagana, “majority of the team players were grown up together since from childhood.”
 The winners went home with a cash prize of 12,000, with a giant trophy and 7,000 to the runner- up, certificates were given to some individuals for their contribution in one way or the other to make the tournament a success one. While Hajie Touray of kulary was awarded with the best player of the tournament
Commentary
With all possible goal chances created in the game by kulary  fail to make good use of it to equalize their opponents in the regulation time, which the fans left with heart full of tears to their respective houses.
