GAMBIA U-20 NAME FINAL SQUARED FOR MORROCO CLASH ON FRIDAY


             
The Gambia has named the final list of players for the U-20 squared ahead of their Friday clash with North African side Morroco in the first leg of the CAF qualifiers in Cassablanca.

Gambia fined US$500 for withdrawal from U17 Championship



The chairman of the GFA Normalisation Committee has confirmed that The Gambia has been fined US$500 by CAF for withdrawing its U-17 male football team from the qualifying round of the African U-17 championship.

TEAMS IN BAKAU ACCEPT NEW INTERIM EXECUTIVE




After nearly a half month of impeachment process of the current elected executive headed by Hadda Bangura, on Saturday 14th July 2012 had succeeded in their plans when the executive finally decided to step down and interim body was selected head by Ex-President Bakary Dampha (Paco) in a ceremony held at the Independence Stadium Hostel hull presided over by President of K.M.C Sports Mustapha Kebbeh.

BAKAU SPORTS COMMITTEE MEETING ENDS IN DEADLOCK




The first memorandum of understanding meeting between the current executive of Bakau Zonal Sports Committee (BZSC) and the newly proposed committee, failed to produce any positive result, as the two parties could not agree on terms.

SAUDI FEMALE ATHLETES TO COMPETE IN LONDON 2012

The IOC has received confirmation from the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee that two female athletes will compete for Saudi Arabia at the London Games this summer.

WADA President John Fahey has called on athletes who are doping to withdraw from their national teams and stay away from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With less than three weeks to the opening ceremony of London 2012, Mr. Fahey has taken the opportunity to highlight the rights of all clean athletes to compete on a level playing field and to gain due reward for their hard work and natural talent.

A GROUP FORM TO TOPPLE BZSC EXECUTIVE

According to speculations around Bakau, has it that a group has form to topple the Executive of  Bakau Zonal Sports Committee (BZSC), the said group of football enthusiasm residing in the community have meet twice at the Independent Stadium on Monday 25th June and Friday 29th June 2012 to discuss ways and means to remove the current elected Executive Committee headed by HaddaBangura as the President and institute a new propose committee this paper can confirm the ramous.

HANDBALL LAST MATCH IS SET FOR TUESDAY 17TH JULY

The last match of the ongoing 2nd edition of the Handball tournament is set for Tuesday 17th July 2012 between The Gambia Armed Forces and the West Coast Region outfit Samassa handball club of Brikama.

According to sources emanating from the Secretary General of the Gambia Handball Association (GHA) Haruna Cham in an interview on Monday at the handball court at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
